Taj Mahal, Agra

Yes, two cards from India back to back on the blog!  These cards actually arrived on the same day, which is pretty special considering that India is a relatively rare country on Postcrossing & the cards are both of World Heritage Sites.

The Taj Mahal is a mausoleum built in memory of Emperor Shahjahan's third wife who died in 1631.  It was built from 1631 to 1648.

Thetomb was built in 1570 and was the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent, leading the way for other tombs such as the Taj Mahal.  It is an UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This card, of a snake charmer from India was sent the same day that the Indiana spacecraft Mangalyan into mars orbit.

The card features these excelent stamps featuring Mahatma Gandhi, the FIFA 2014 World Cup, and the Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital in Delhi.
