Purdue University
This older photo postcard, dating from the early to mid 1990s, shows the Engineering Mall Fountain at Purdue University. At night, the fountain is lit by colored lights coming out of the raised part of the sculpture.
This and another fountain on campus are frequent sights of "fountain runs" where students run through the fountains to cool off in the warmer months, something which is not at all discouraged by the school.
This photo however does not show the changes made to the fountain in the late 1990s/early 2000s when an accident at the fountain cause the school to put a large silver cylinder over the water fall so a person can no longer run straight through the fountain as it is pictured here.
