My friend Catherine told me a story about when she was in a taxi in New York. The driver noticed her English accent and asked her where she was from:

"You're from London?" he asked her.
"No, I'm from Leeds. It's in England!"
"England? Is that in London?"
"Yes," she said, defeated. "Yes...England is in London..."
